So how does it work, how do I take it?

Migraine Escape® is “taken” by simply rolling the extract on to your forehead. No pills or needles involved.

To get the most out of it, you apply Migraine Escape® on a daily basis for Prevention, and also at the first warning sign of a migraine to Extinguish an oncoming attack. You then boost its overall effectiveness by Customising the application to match the unique traits of you and your migraines.

Prevention

Apply Migraine Escape® on a routine basis to reduce the number of migraines you experience. For example, 1-2x swipes twice a day.

Extinguish

Extinguish a migraine before the pain sets in by following the 6 Steps application guidelines at the very first sign of an impending migraine.

Customise

Every person experiences migraine differently. With Migraine Escape®, your migraine quirks are no longer an extra something you have to just “deal with”; they become your unique advantage.

After identifying the unique patterns in your migraines, we adapt Migraine Escape® accordingly to get better outcomes.

The two examples below give a good insight into how this works.

Example #1
Vanessa migraine customisation

Vanessa

2-4x migraines a week

Vanessa’s unique trait was that her migraines occurred in the morning. By the time she’d wake up, it would be too late to apply Migraine Escape®.

In response, we customised the standard prevention protocol so that she’d apply every night before bed, putting Migraine Escape® to work while she slept.

She woke up without a migraine the next morning and within 4 weeks of starting had all but eliminated migraine from her life.

Example #2

Menstrual migraines

During menstruation the body is going through big chemical and hormonal changes. This causes some people to experience menstrual migraines.

With Migraine Escape®, rather than applying continually each day as a preventative, menstrual migraine sufferers need only apply on the days leading up to and throughout menstruation.

By concentrating the use of the extract in this specific window, we suppress the knock-on effects of menstruation, which in turn stops those migraines from forming. Once menstruation has passed and you’re in the clear, you would stop the daily application until next month.

Still have questions?

We expect to see positive results within 4-6 weeks of using Migraine Escape®. While some people get immediate success on the first use, others find it takes a while before the extract completes its repairwork and migraines fall in frequency and/or they are successfully able to extinguish migraine attacks. Sometimes it can also take some trial and error before we identify the optimal customisation for you. Either way, the maximum time we’d expect before you’ve made a material impact on your migraines is 3 months.

Migraine Escape® is used by people of all ages and migraine types. We can categorise users into 1 of 4 broad groups in terms of their degree of success with Migraine Escape®.

Group 1: Based on our experience, Migraine Escape® has a positive and lasting effect fairly early on for around half of its users. For example, they have success extinguishing a migraine attack before the pain stage in the first few tries of the product. Or they experience a noticeable reduction in migraine attacks within the first few weeks of preventative application. We call these people Group 1.

Group 2: The biggest factor in Migraine Escape® not initially having the desired effect is mis-application. Should it not work in the earlier stages, we can often improve the application customisation based on your experience thus far with the product and achieve results more in line with Group 1. This is the case for approximately ¼ of users.

Group 3: Of the remaining users, around half are those who don’t achieve the results they were hoping for within the first few weeks and decide they don’t wish to continue with Migraine Escape®. In such cases, it is possible that better results could be achieved with more time e.g. with long-standing sufferers, where the extract needs more time to repair the damaged nerve tissue.

Group 4: The remaining users are those who do not receive any positive impact from Migraine Escape®, even after more prolonged use. We have observed some patterns in these people - for instance, those who have received botox within the past 6 months are less likely to benefit from Migraine Escape® given the conflict of botox chemicals with the Migraine Escape® extract.

Also in Group 4 are those who decide Migraine Escape® isn’t for them due to the heat sensation, smell or colour on the skin; or a more adverse reaction for some who are particularly sensitive to foreign agents in the body.

Remember - should Migraine Escape® not have a positive impact on your migraines, you are covered by our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee. Just let us know within 30 days and we’ll refund your purchase (minus postage & handling) upon receipt of the returned product.

You need not use Migraine Escape® forever - it’s designed to help you truly escape, so that you don’t need to be burdened with never-ending medication costs.

The total amount of Migraine Escape® required to bring your migraines under control largely depends on the frequency and severity of your migraines. At the extreme end (e.g. 3, 4, 5 or more migraines a week) we’d expect to use a maximum of 2-4 bottles before your migraines have been reduced down to a more manageable level, at which point you can phase out use as a preventative and just keep a bottle for emergencies.

At the other end of the spectrum - if your migraines are less regular and you only use Migraine Escape® to extinguish standalone attacks, one bottle will cover you for a minimum of 22 migraine events. So if you experience 1-2x migraines a month, you could expect 1 bottle to give you 1-2 years worth of protection.

Either way, with the passage of time the frequency of migraine events should reduce such that each additional bottle also lasts longer.

If you are unsure, we recommend starting with just 1 bottle to try out - that way you have a month to experiment with it, and are covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee should you receive no benefit in that time.

As a highly concentrated ginger extract, the properties associated with ginger are intensified in Migraine Escape®. This applies to both its medicinal properties and side effects.

Ginger itself is recognised as being generally safe, and in small doses has few side effects. These include dermatitis, skin rash, gas, heartburn, upset stomach and vomiting. Higher doses of ginger (5 grams or more a day) may increase the chance of side effects. (WebMD)

Ginger may raise the risk of bleeding. If you have a bleeding disorder, it may not be safe and you should seek medical advice before applying Migraine Escape®.

A regular-sized application (6 swipes) of Migraine Escape® equates to approximately 2.75 grams of ginger. This means that following the Chronic Application Protocol (2 regular-sized applications per day) may increase the risk of side effects associated with ginger. We advise applying no more than 24 swipes of Migraine Escape® in a 24-hour period (e.g. a maximum of 4 regular-sized applications of 6 swipes each per 24 hours).

Overuse may be associated with symptoms including an increase in vomiting, increase in migraine-associated pain, increased skin sensitivity and nose bleeding. If you are particularly sensitive to inputs of any kind, you may also have an increased risk of these side effects.

Heat sensation: The most common side effect is a heat reaction on the skin upon applying Migraine Escape®. The severity varies by individual, ranging from a stinging/burning sensation to mild discomfort to nothing at all. People with sensitive skin may want to try a smaller amount initially to test for any reaction. You can find more information about this here.

Scent: Migraine Escape® has a fragrant citrusy smell, reflecting the freshness of the inputs. While many welcome the smell as fragrant and soothing, a handful find it discomforting.

Avoid contact with eyes: Be careful not to get Migraine Escape® in your eyes as it stings.

If for whatever reason Migraine Escape® does not agree with you, we do not expect you to push on using it!

At the first sign of any discomfort or negative effects, you should discontinue use and contact us immediately. Should you no longer wish to continue using Migraine Escape® for whatever reason, no problem - you’re covered by our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

Women who are pregnant should seek the advice of their medical practitioner before using Migraine Escape® or ginger-based products. You can find more information about this here.

In general, Migraine Escape® can be used alongside your existing medication. In some cases, users have reported greater effectiveness of medication/painkillers when used alongside Migraine Escape®. Please note however that where your medication and Migraine Escape® share the same therapeutic mechanism, the efficacy of Migraine Escape® may be reduced or nullified.

If you take any medications regularly, talk to your doctor before you start using ginger-based derivatives. They could interact with blood thinners and medications for diabetes and high blood pressure.

Always tell your doctor about herbal medicines you take, including ginger.

As mentioned, Migraine Escape® combats migraine through 5 primary channels: anti-inflammation, anti-nociception, antioxidant, neuroprotection and anti-nausea. These therapeutic properties are derived from ginger, the core ingredient of Migraine Escape®.

Anti-inflammation

Inflammation plays a central role in what we know as pain. In migraine, activation of trigeminal nerves as part of the inflammatory response releases chemicals that are strongly associated with migraine pain, such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2).

Ginger possesses anti-inflammatory action in multiple forms. George Mason University scientists show that ginger possesses effective CGRP-suppressant properties, thus enabling it to moderate this key mechanism in a migraine attack.1

Meanwhile, University of Pennsylvania and University of Illinois research shows that ginger-based compounds [10]-gingerol, [8]-shogaol and [10]-shogaol inhibit the chemical COX-2 in the same way as NSAID drugs, thereby further suppressing the inflammatory process and pain response.2, 3

Anti-nociception

Migraines are associated with increased prostaglandin output and heightened sensitivity of the nociceptors, or increased sensitivity to pain.

University of Sydney research shows gingerols possess the vanillyl moiety, which is considered important for inhibition of the VR1 receptors, thus moderating sensitivity to pain.4

Antioxidant

Excess levels of oxidants, toxins and free radicals (e.g. caused by stress, hormones etc) leads to impaired cellular function and enhanced inflammation, creating conditions for a migraine attack.

Gingerol compounds and [6]-shogaol possess antioxidant properties due to high phenolic content - allowing for effective clearing of oxidants, free radicals and other toxins, moderating the chemical imbalance at the heart of a migraine attack.5

Neuroprotection

Years of migraine pain and inflammation leads to heightened activation of the brain’s microglia cells. This leads to cell damage and the breaking down of nerve plasticity in the brain, further increasing susceptibility to migraine.

[6]-shogaol is shown to possess neuroprotective effects through suppression of microglial cell activation, helping the brain recover and improving durability against migraine.6

Anti-nausea

Migraines and nausea are closely linked - in fact, for some sufferers, controlling nausea can be sufficient as a means of controlling migraines.

Ginger is a common ingredient in anti-nausea medications, as it contains a number of compounds - such as [6]-gingerol & zingerone - that inhibit serotonin (5-HT(3)) and dopamine (D2R) receptors, chemicals that trigger nausea.7, 8
